Ineris is a member of the new REMINDNET (Recovery of Mining District Network) European network for post-mining management in Europe. It brings together experts and researchers in the different post-mining fields (geologists, economists, engineers, environmental and social science specialists, metallurgists, legal representatives, etc.) in order to consolidate and promote exchanges of knowledge.

This network, created as part of the European COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) funding platform, focuses on the European mining heritage and has a duration of four years. It is made up of 74 scientists from more than 60 organisations within the 28 countries of the European union, including France.

Mission

The network’s mission focuses on information exchanges regarding legislation, governance, management of mining heritage, techniques and practices for mine rehabilitation and monitoring, as well as financing methods for them, in order to improve the implementation of solutions mitigating the risks associated with post-mining in Europe.

The first meeting of the network will take place on 19 October 2023 in Brussels and Ineris will be present.
