Ineris is one of 14 key players in environmental health who gathered on Wednesday, April 2, with Agnès PANNIER-RUNACHER, Minister for Ecological Transition, Biodiversity, Forestry, and Fisheries, for the signing of the framework agreement on Green Data for Health (GD4H).

A partner in the initiative since its launch as part of the fourth national health and environment plan for 2021-2025, the Institute actively participates in the work of the GD4H, contributing its knowledge of industrial activities and the dangers of chemical substances, as well as the environmental monitoring data it centralizes and produces (Geod'air, air quality map library, BDREP, etc.).

Its teams have thus contributed to the catalog of environmental datasets established by the GD4H and participated in various events organized by the group in recent years. In particular, they led one of the challenges of the GD4H data challenge launched in 2023 and participated in the first two editions of the call for projects, obtaining funding for two projects: the BIS project, with Santé publique France, in 2023, which led to the development of an indicator of exposure to pressure pollution linked to atmospheric emissions 42 large industrial basins; and the ExpoThyr project, led by the Amiens University Hospital in collaboration with the Peritox research unit, jointly run by the UPJV and INERIS, in 2024, which is studying the relationship between the incidence of hyperthyroidism and a dataset of environmental characteristics.

It is also within the framework of GD4H that INERIS is currently contributing to a study aimed at strengthening interoperability between the various sources of PFAS measurement data in environments managed by national public bodies.

The above examples demonstrate the concrete contribution of Green Data for Health to the collective effort to cross-reference environmental and health data in order to provide decision-makers with useful information for the development of public policies at different territorial levels. INERIS, through its missions and the data it holds, plays an important role in implementing this effort. The signing of the new GD4H framework agreement attests to its determination to continue its contribution alongside the 13 other partners.
