IECEx is one of the international certification systems set up by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) with the aim of facilitating international trade of equipment intended for use in explosive atmospheres (ATEX).

On June 12/13 and June 19/20, the institute was in Morocco alongside the departments of the Ministry of energy, mines, and sustainable development to assist them during the set up and operationalization of their air quality monitoring and management network.

Knowledge of hazards associated with mining works has largely been developed in recent years in metropolitan France. The research carried out to apprehend risks on the surface influenced by old mining operations is realised through a "hazard study", for the vast majority of the dreaded phenomena which can occur.

Guy Marlair, head of the research program and technical expert at the Ineris accident risk department, was appointed in November 2018 as president of the IEC 120 international commission (Electrical Energy Storage Systems).

Two important events on the subject of micro-sensors recently took place during which the LCSQA central air quality laboratory presented its papers.

The Central Laboratory for Monitoring Air Quality (LCSQA/Ineris) has taken part in a European inter-laboratory comparison exercise recently organized by the JRC (Joint Research Centre) / EC Centre for Scientific Research for the measurement of gaseous inorganic pollutants (carbon monoxide CO, nitrogen oxides NOx, sulphur dioxide, SO2, ozone O3).

Ineris participates to this event through a keynote lecture by Farid Laouafa, senior researcher in advanced numerical modelling in geomechanics with multi-physics.

In conjunction with the competent French and Danish authorities, about a year and a half ago, the institute proposed a method for the determination of “dustiness” related to nanoparticles.

On 4 April in Nancy, the Institute took part in the first Technical Workshop for the DEEPSURF project, which was launched in November 2018 as part of the I-SITE LUE programme.

On 17 April in Casablanca (Morocco), a partnership agreement was signed between Ineris formation, a subsidiary of Ineris, the Fédération de la Chimie et de la Parachimie (FCP) and the Centre des Services de la Chimie (CSC) in Morocco.
