This application enables consumers to screen everyday objects and find out whether or not they contain substances of very high concern (SVHC), which is likely to guide their consumption choices. At this stage, Ineris is asking brands to volunteer to enter their products into the database and expand the information available to consumers. With over 1,500 certificates already issued, Quali-SIL is currently recognised throughout Europe. As a result of the restrictions being imposed, there has been a fall in economic activity, and therefore a sharp drop in air-pollutant emissions from road traffic and industries. In fact, concentrations of nitrogen dioxide (NO2), one of the main tracers for these activities, in the ambient air of France’s major cities only reached half their expected levels.
