Support to the World Bank concerning air quality: webinar for the implementation of fine particulate matter monitoring in Cairo, Egypt

caputure d'un écran
Ineris has recently organised two sessions of theoretical training on the subject of a better understanding of the sources of atmospheric pollution in Cairo, based on an analysis of the chemical composition of particulate matter. They brought together around thirty Egyptian participants, as well as our partners from the World Bank and the Cyprus Institute, by videoconference.

The Institute has in fact been engaged in a contract with the World Bank since the end of 2019, in a support mission for the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency (EEAA), to improve the understanding of the sources of air pollution in Cairo, based on the analysis of the chemical composition of particulate matter.
This contract includes a component that focuses on the transfer of knowledge and skills, including the revision or supply of measurement protocols and good practice guides, the validation of sampling plans, technical and scientific assistance in the application of laboratory chemical analysis equipment as well as in the use of suitable data processing tools.
In the context of the current health crisis, Ineris is providing this support remotely.
