BlackCycle: a major European project to recycle worn tyres into new tyres 9th September 2020 The Institute is participating in the BlackCycle project, coordinated by Michelin, the world leader in tyres. The project brings together 12 European partners (manufacturers and research institutes) to work on developing new technologies for recycling end-of-life tyres in order to produce raw materials of high technological quality with a reduced environmental impact. For these technologies, throughout the chain, Ineris is in charge of: - the evaluation and characterization of the industrial emissions and their environmental impacts; - risk assessment from a point of view of process safety and related regulatory aspects; - socio-economic aspects. The project is funded for 3 years, from May 2020 to April 2023.
