Contaminated sites and soils

For several years, INERIS has had integrated expertise in the risks associated with contaminated sites and soils.

One of the Institute's added values is its ability to study the entire contamination chain: measuring pollutants in different environmental compartments, studying transfer pathways and flows of contaminants to exposure media, assessing risks to humans and ecosystems, assessing compatibility with the intended use of the site, identifying remediation options, assisting with their implementation, and metrological monitoring. The Institute is thus able to provide all stakeholders with comprehensive expertise in a variety of contexts.

Groundwater

INERIS took an early interest in groundwater, in connection with risk prevention and management policy and regulations on facilities classified for environmental protection (ICPE). Its work focuses on transfer, monitoring, and modeling, with the aim of improving practices, contributing to the state of the art, and providing feedback.
