The INERIS and research theisis

In order to carry out its mission successfully, the INERIS conducts research in various technical fields covered by health-related, technological and natural risks. It thus provides on-going training for about fifty doctoral candidates. Depending on circumstances, these candidates are based in the INERIS research laboratories at Verneuil-en-Halatte (60), Bourges (18), Aix-en-Provence (13), Nancy (54), or in French or foreign university laboratories with which scientific partnerships are established. Approximately 15 new theses begin each year. The INERIS has been publishing the new thesis topics since January 2008, on the basis of pre-targeted themes consistent with the research programmes of the Institute, so as to identify the doctoral candidates and laboratories capable of co-supervising these theses. The laboratories desiring to work in scientific partnership with the INERIS are invited to propose candidates and candidature files.

Doctoral candidates who are interested in one of the proposed themes but who have not identified any host laboratory can contact the INERIS.
