Presentation of INERIS’ Certification Activities

 

The Certification Division (DCE) has the role to control the whole INERIS certification and third-expertise activities (including the health hazards evaluation).

It includes 2 units:

 

EQEN: Equipment and services with the companies
This unit is in charge of:
-    the equipment certification in the field of the directive 94/9/EC relating to the explosive atmospheres (ATEX),
-    the equipment  certification in the field of the directive Machines 2006/42/EC
-    the certification of companies involved in associated services relating to the installation, maintenance and ATEX equipment repair.

PNEO: Products and new technologies
This unit is in charge of:
-    the certification of the explosive and pyrotechnical products in accordance with the directives 93/15/EEC (Explosive of civil use) and 2007/23/EC (pyrotechnical Articles)
-    the classification of the dangerous goods within the meaning of regulation TDG(Transportation of Dangerous Goods)
-    the certification in relation to the reliability, the lightning protection and the EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility)
-    the development of new certification in the eco-innovations (eco-technologies, tests center …)

The DCE also controls certification in the field of metrology of the environment.
Various fields of certification of the INERIS:
